  39. II] HOW TO START THE DEMO

  41. You may start AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia using either of the 
  42. following two methods:
  43. - If you chose to add a shortcut to AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia to
  44. your desktop during installation, you may start the game using this
  45. shortcut.
  46. - By opening the Start Menu\Programs\Sierra\Austin Powers Operation: 
  47. Trivia folder on your Start Menu and selecting Aust

  51. III] HOW TO PLAY THE DEMO  
  52. =======================================================================
  53. AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia can be played by one or two players or
  54. by two teams.  When the game starts listen to the instructions and
  55. enter the number of players.  The host will ask you to take a simple
  56. quiz.  Choose wisely - how you answer determines whether you partner
  57. with Austin Powers or Dr. Evil.
  58.  
  59. When you're asked to pick a question title, press 1, 2, or 3 on the 
  60. keyboard.  Buzz in fast to get the first chance at answering each question.

  62. The host will provide instructions for how to play each type of question.

  64. The team with the most cash at the end of the game wins.

  67. IV] GENERAL TECHNICAL ISSUES

  69. - Installing AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia
  70.  
  71. Before installing AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia, disable all anti-virus 
  72. software and any TSRs on your computer. To disable your anti-virus 
  73. software, please consult your anti-virus software's documentation.

  76. - Windows Compatibility
  77.  
  78. AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia is playable on any P90 PC (or better) 
  79. that is running  Windows 95 or 98.
  80.  
  81. If you are using the Virtual Memory feature in Windows 95/98 and you
  82. are running low on free disk space, you may experience "Out of Memory" 
  83. errors while playing AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia. Check your Virtual 
  84. Memory settings, free some hard disk space and then restart AUSTIN POWERS 
  85. Operation: Trivia.

  87. We do not recommend that you play AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia with 
  88. Virtual Memory disabled.

  90. Applications with an "Always on top" option (like the Microsoft Office 
  91. Toolbar) may run on top of the game while you are playing AUSTIN POWERS 
  92. Operation: Trivia.   You may choose to uncheck the "Always on top" option 
  93. before launching the game.

  96. - AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia Memory Requirement
  97.  
  98. AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia requires 16MB of physical RAM installed in 
  99. your system.  If your system meets this requirement, but you still
  100. get an "Exception 1 out of memory" error, try to free additional
  101. hard disk space.

  104. - AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia Performance
  105.  
  106. AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia performs best when your video display is 
  107. set to 256 colors.  Some PC hardware may not be fast enough to play the 
  108. game well in higher color video modes.

  110. If you experience sound or video performance problems while playing the 
  111. game, please make sure that neither the Microsoft Office Toolbar nor the 
  112. Norton Navigator Task Bar (or any similar utility) is running when you 
  113. play AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia. These utilities can negatively affect 
  114. the performance of  many games.

  116. If you still experience sound stuttering, make sure that you have
  117. installed the latest drivers for your sound card. Contact the
  118. manufacturer of your sound card for more information on the availability
  119. of driver updates. Updates can usually be downloaded for free from the 
  120. World Wide Web or from your manufacturer's own electronic bulletin board.

  123. - Dual Monitors In Windows 98
  124.  
  125. If your machine uses dual monitors, it's possible that the game may crash
  126. during the play of Dr. Evil's kicky Macarena Crazy Chain bumper.  If that
  127. happens, look in the Austin folder on your hard drive for a folder called
  128. APOTITEMS.INI.  There, you'll see an entry called: DiamondVideo.  That
  129. entry is by default set to N.  If you are having trouble with the game
  130. crashing during a CrazyChain bumper, you should edit this entry to read:
  131. DiamondVideo=Y.

  134. - Desktop Themes/Application-Launch Sounds
  135.  
  136. Launching AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia on a machine that has a desktop
  137. theme that includes a system sound for opening an application may cause a
  138. sound device error; "Sound Device in Use."  To avoid this problem, turn off
  139. your startup sounds before launching AUSTIN POWERS Operation: Trivia.
